WOW Fox today has had Gov Perry, and now the AG Gregg Abbott

they really mixed no words and came straight to the point. The AG was very clear about the UN arms treaty bull

Nice sound bites but I'm more interested what they're doing to help repeal gun rights restrictions in Texas.

That probably wouldn't get them national media exposure.

With all this "gun control" talk, I haven't heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns away from criminals, only from law abiding citizens. :txflag:

That's what the Texas legislature does, or doens't do. It's up to "us" to make sure they know we care about the legislation they have on the table in front of them. Once they do, the Gov can do his thing.....I'm pretty sure he's got a pen in his hand ready to start signing. :txflag:

I have said the exact same thing to some friends who are a bit Left-leaning. They resort to the usual Leftist tactic of ignore the logical fallacy in their argument and resort to screaming about the chiiiiiiiiildren. When I ask how taking guns away from people who would never harm the children in the first place they usually just huff and puff and storm off.

You must have more patience than I do. I would end up hanging a sign around their necks that reads as follows: "STUPID"

Or add to them. Seems like some legislation is getting bottled up (open carry, campus carry). Has anyone seen something like some other state are passing enacting a state law which won't allow federal confiscation???

Talk is cheap. I want some action if they want my vote or any support during campaign season. At this point I would vote for Richard Petty over Rick Perry. I'd even write in Katy Perry instead of voting for Rick.

If we don't get at least one of those two this year, I won't vote for any Texas Republicans next year.

Unfortunately, the Texas governor has no power to influence legislation until it reaches his desk. I do think we can always count on Perry to sign pro-gun bills that pass.

It did bother me that Perry made his statement that CHLs should be able to carry anywhere after the deadline to file bills in 2011. At that point it was both safe and meaningless.

The lieutenant governor and speaker of the house hold all the cards.
