Mitch McConnell joins Senate gun filibuster

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said he would join a group of Senate Republicans threatening a filibuster to oppose a cloture vote if Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid moves a gun bill to the floor this week.
Reid has promised to move a gun bill to the Senate floor this week, but it’s unclear which one. It depends on whether Democrats can strike a deal on background checks on gun sales — otherwise, they may settle for a less strict bill that includes some form of background checks, increase penalties for gun trafficking and increase school security. In order to get around the filibuster, Reid has indicated that he would file a cloture motion, which would require a 60-vote margin to move the bill.
“While nobody knows yet what Senator Reid’s plan is for the gun bill, if he chooses to file cloture on the motion to proceed to the Reid Bill (S. 649), Senator McConnell will oppose cloture on proceeding to that bill,” McConnell spokesman John Ashbrook said in a statement.

Note that what McConnell is saying is that he will oppose cloture on S. 649. What he does not say is that he will oppose ANY attempt to pass a gun control bill.
The article states "McConnell joins a group of 13 senators who have already vowed to block any gun legislation." which, of course, is NOT what McConnell is saying.
Here's
an article listing the 13 Senators.
In addition to Paul, Lee, Cruz, Rubio and Moran, the Republican who have signed the second letter are Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, Richard Burr of North Carolina, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Mike Enzi of Wyoming, Jim Risch and Mike Crapo of Idaho, Dan Coats of Indiana and Pat Roberts of Kansas.
“We will oppose the motion to proceed on any legislation that will serve as a vehicle for any additional gun restrictions,” they write.
This is a critical time in our nation. This filibuster MUST break the back of the gun control crowd and these Senators must stand firm against the onslaught of insults and opprobrium they have received and will continue to receive.
Obama is
calling them cowards. Them's fightin' words.

Obama - spoken like a true coward.
Let those leading the charge against the 2A and our RKBA come and get them. Let them show their true committment to their ideals. Don't send the sons and daughters, the fathers and mothers. Come and get them yourselves!!

That is the end result of the filibuster.

Why isn't our other senator from Texas joining in on this?
If he votes for any new gun control laws then he needs to be primaried.
