Proud of my 13yo daughter

My older daughter is 13 and is already quite the hunter with several trophy animals taken. She has taken great rifle shots at game out to 200yds and is also quite proficient with handguns. I was already proud of her for that.
Ever since she has been old enough to shoot (age 5 or so), I have been gently explaining to her that there is evil in the world and not everyone can be trusted. I have also been explaining that sometimes calling the police isn't enough and we may have to protect ourselves or our loved ones. I didn't explain things in a way that makes her afraid to go out or enjoy being a young lady, just enough so that she is situationally aware more than most adults I know. She knows I carry pretty much everywhere.
The other night we were sitting down to dinner at a restaurant and she moved everyone around so that she was facing the main entry door. More than that, when my wife (who was ahead of me) started to sit in the other seat facing the door, my daughter immediately told her that was my seat and I HAD to be there. My wife said it didn't make a difference, but my daughter insisted it did and gave me a knowing wink. My beautiful little girl intentionally placed me in the best seat to react / protect if something happened while we were eating and also gave me the best view of the door. After dinner, she confirmed that was her reason for insisting on where I sit.
She is only 13, and yet, she gets the fallacy of gun control (and the reasons for supporting the 2nd) and has successfully argued many points against gun control during class debates at her school. If only our elected leaders would / could take a cue from some of our young people who actually seem to understand things better than they do.
As I said....so proud of her.

Rightly so, but your underlying assumption here is that the gun control proponents are merely ignorant and can be educated into changing their position. This may be true of the average anti-gun citizen but it is not true of the politicians promoting anti-gun and anti-self-defense legislation. They are actively hostile to the whole notion of self-defense and don't want citizens to have guns. If any are actually ignorant of the facts they are willfully ignorant; and if they are confronted with the facts they will simply deny them. Others, like DiFi are deliberately deceptive and sneaky, quite well aware of the facts, and simply liars and Traitors in pursuit of an ideological agenda. Furthermore, we have now unequivocally identified 46 openly Treasonous Senators who just voted on the record to subordinate the US Constitution to the whims of a foreign power. These Traitors don't need an education, they need to be on trial for Treason.

I know. My ideal world and wishful thinking. What you stated above does make it that much worse. Willful deception and subterfuge....

You are so right. I think too many people are making the assumption that gun grabbers are ignorant. The politicians (for the most part) did not get elected to office by being stupid (OK Sheila Jackson Lee comes to mind, but that's another story). Anyway, these "representatives" are fully aware of what they are doing, and that is trying to disarm America "for the greater good". Whatever. It seems like so many of these lefties think that we all need somebody with their giant brains (make that ego's) to figure out how to live our lives. If they want to do that they should move to China or North Korea or Cuba. This is the United States - WE THE PEOPLE decide how to run our lives. These supposed protectors of America seem to forget what this nation was founded on: personal liberty which goes hand in hand with responsibility. But that isn't fashionable any more. "It's not my fault" (or "It's Bush's fault") seems to be the first thing out of too many people's mouths.
If we allow these people to take away ONE right, then what is the next right they will target? This is far more serious than just keeping our guns. It is a matter of keeping our Country and the American way of life.
