I'm planning on dropping by the gun and knife show this weekend in Dallas; hosted by Dallas Arms. Can someone who as attended in the past comment on how they handle CHL holders?

If it's the one in Market Hall they usually prohibit carry. IANAL so I don't know the legality of it, but I usually don't. If they check your gun and it has ammo they usually "donate" the ammo to a ammo bin.

I believe Market Hall was the very first to start all this 30.06 stuff at gun shows.

Just an FYI, as DMH is owned by the city, the 30.06 signs are invalid. I have carried there every time I go. That being said, if caught, you may take a ride. Concealed is concealed.

Yes - all of the gun shows I have attended in the area have been posted or there is a warning of no loaded guns - concealed or otherwise. Police usually at the door to check and zip tie all guns. For my carry gun - I unload my magazine and chambered round, leave the ammunition in vehicle, reholster the weapon and put the empty magazine in my pocket to show the LEO, and hand the weapon to the LEO from my holster locked open or cylinder open, they zip tie it and I stick it back the holster. Have them nip the zip tie as you leave. No problems - ever.

You need to search all of the building addresses there. Multiple buildings. Go here

The last time I went to that show, about 12 years ago, they also had a metal detector to walk through after you gave them your handgun to zip-tie. And if you had a loaded magazine you could either dump all the bullets out into a 5 gallon water jug or take them back to your vehicle. I took mine back and got in line again. I haven't seen another metal detector of bullet collection since then in another show.

So are you saying the buildings are owned by the city? Why don't you explain a little better rather than just making a snide comment.
