Austin ISD "no weapons" sign?

AISD sign at entrance to parking lot
"Whether you're licensed to carry or not"
"NO WEAPONS ON SCHOOL PROPERTY"
Goes into detail about types of weapons, then references Texas Law (Penal Code Ch 46) and AISD Board Policy GKA and [abbreviated profanity deleted]. Texas peace officers are exempt.
I thought a CHL holder could have a gun in the car on school grounds?

On the school ground where there is not sporting activity, you are still in the clear. Do not go into any building. Austin ISD do not care about the law says.

OK, that's what I thought. I don't have kids in this system, but saw the sign and thought, "what!?"
So this is the reality: "Austin ISD do not care about the law says."
They should be forced to change the language of the sign then. Otherwise, it's basically intimidating people into not exercising their 2nd Amendment rights and rights as a CHL holder in the state of Texas.

Be sure to write your representatives and ask them to support HB 508, which was voted out of committee on 9-April
Waiting for calendars.
