As Wolters was practicing holstering and un-holstering his gun, it went off, police said, and the bullet traveled outside and struck Shonneker.
He had recently been hired to an armed security job with an armored transport company, and he was practicing handling his gun to prepare him for his new job.

Man, I HATE the media.
As Wolters was practicing holstering and un-holstering his gun, it went off, police said, and the bullet traveled outside and struck Shonneker.
No! "As Wolters was practicing holstering and un-holstering his gun,
he fired it unintentionally, police said, and the bullet traveled outside and struck Shonneker."

why would someone want to practice a quick draw with a loaded gun? Unless your at a range or somewhere safe, it just sounds like a terrible idea.

Because he was barely trained and most likely making $9 hr and can't afford to spend much time on the range. Sad all the way around.

Why would someone apply for a $10 - $12 /hr job as an armed security guard? Not exactly the best and brightest.
