I will be staying in Dallas for a few days while my wife attends a conference. I thought I'd check out the perot & art museum and maybe the JFK museum too. Does anyone know the rules for these places regarding concealed carry? Thanks in advance for any help!

Nope, the Perot is posted 30.06 so off-limits

Thanks for the info. I was afraid of that. I'm not sure what the point of having a CHL is if everywhere you want to go seems to be off limits. It seems like the places you would most likely need a weapon are "gun free zones", like sporting events, college, etc. I just don't understand how they trust you to walk around the streets armed, but a museum..... no way.

Private property owners sometimes have weird ideas on gun rights. Any city or government owned museum would be OK to carry.

Apparently the Perot Museum isn't posted anymore -- see here:

OK, well thanks again guys. Thats better news. I had planned on walking there and didn't want to have to leave my weapon because the destination wouldn't allow it. I really hate being a law abiding citizen sometimes. I just hope all the crazy folks out there are just as worried about the gun free signs as I am.

I was at the Perot last Friday. I did not take my pistol for not knowing if it was posted. It was not posted at the main entrance nor at the entrance to the building. Carry on!
