Before the story some details:
I've had my license for a few months (see sig)
I was attentive before receiving my CHL but now I like to look for fellow CHLers
I carry a G27 in a re-enforced Remora 3:15

So I'm sitting down in a shop, waiting for the cashier to retrieve an item when I see a man in his mid thirties, between 5'8'' and 5'10'' walk in get in line when. Before he makes it to the cashier I notice a small protuberance on his right hip. He walks up to the counter, leans to the left printing on a thin cotton t-shirt what I appeared to be a full size handgun with a full size grip (possibly a 1911) at 3 o'clock position. While I'm checking out the print he notices, I look up at him and just nod slightly with a faint smile. Nobody was paying any attention to the blocky object on his hip, meanwhile I positioned myself as if he wasn't a CHLer and did not have good intentions.

Everything turned out fine and I left feeling reassured that even when you may be printing in plain sight, most people won't pay attention to or notice it.

Might not have been a fellow CHL. I think it was TAM, who a while back came across someone carrying similarly and when TAM asked if he was worried about printing the response was, no and he gave TAM peek at his badge. He was a LEO.

A good fix for printing wear it under a cowboy shirt with snaps good access good conceal

Could be. I've seen CHL and LEO's "print." A term I never heard of until I found this excellent forum. Funny I have never seen a crook print.... they conceal their guns pretty good

It might be worth noting, printing is not an offense. Print all you want, or less if you want. Up to you.

True that. When I realized this, I stopped caring. Not to say in print, unless I'm carrying a full size.

While you have my utmost respect, I really think we should all keep our tiaras to ourselves.

Maybe I read too much into this stuff, but the key word to me here is "openly".

Definitions:
Openly - without making any attempt at concealment. (Best definition I could find for the application.)
Discernible - able to be seen, recognized, or understood.
Ordinary - of no exceptional ability, degree, or quality; average.
Observation - an act or instance of noticing or perceiving.

Given these definitions, it would seem to me that as long as some type of material (clothing) is covering the handgun you would meet the legal requirements. Just not sure an officer seeing the outline of a Glock thru your skin tight white T-shirt would agree.

Perhaps someone actually involved in the writing of the regs could correct me, but in reading this my assumption about intent would be to prevent someone from carrying a handgun in an exposed holster that covers most of the firearm and claiming that it meets the requirements of being concealed.

the only downside of this printing is that somebody might call 911 and then a legal holder might temporarily be disarmed, thus creating a new thread for us to post in.

The only people that notice someone printing are CHL holders themselves.
