there was a place long time ago that had like a buy in deal or something similar that you paid a enrollment fee like 100 bucks and if you legally killed someone they said they would give you 10k or something along those lines -- im trying to remember the name of it or the guy that was offering it -- i remember some yrs back cause he was catching a lot of flack over it -- anyone remember or know what im talking about -- not that i want to join but got a ton of anti gun people im arguing with right now

That sounds like a scam - he gets $100 from a bunch of "marks" then can't be found when it's payoff time, if ever.

You'd be crazy to do this. Even if you were 100% legal, somehow this would be discoverable and used in the civil suit that would surely follow. You'd be painted as a warmonger who just couldn't wait to shoot poor little Johnny for breaking into your house, or car, or whatever...

Whole thing sounds sick.

Seems like the makers of Glaser Safety Slugs had something like that back in the 80's or early 90's but it only applied to police officers in the line of duty.

If the shooting was justified, aren't you immune from civil liability in Texas? I thought I'd read that some where.

it was back in late 80's early to mid 90's -- was all over the news back then -- if i remember correctly the guy might of even been a lawyer and offered representation -- its been so long i just dont remember it all

is there a site or forum that list stories where chl or having a gun saved lives or prevented a crime from happening? -- i dont know where these fools get their numbers from must be the same place they got the 90% public wants a ban from

Some of the lawyers on the forum may want to weigh in as I am not one. The [Pre-paid legal service] folks told me you are never immune from being sued in civil court. There may be protection once you're there, but it will be up to you to defend yourself and prove it applies.

So, every BG should consider that before breaking into someone's home, and not do it, thereby preserving their life.
