TexasCHLForum being trashed in another forum

Unfortunately there is a lot of crap information floating around out there that the instructors all use to fill time in the TX class. There are countless forums that have poor information, one of the worst offenders is the Texas CHL Forum. Instructors end up taking the conjecture and bull from that forum and turning it into class materials.

Remember what your mom taught you about sticks and stones, and words?

It applies here.

Even if you go in there and ask, politely for a specific example.. it will turn in to a flame war.

"they" will say something ridiculous was said here, that Chas himself said it, and all the regular members agreed.. a link will be asked for to the offending statements...
Non will provided and the other forum members will chime in and say see.... they knew they were caught and deleted it..

Trust me, it is a no win situation... let it drop.

I moderate on the largest motorcycling forum out there, have since 2003, and two others as well.... Stuff said on one forum about another or the other members is not new.. No minds and viewpoints are ever changed by anything posted.
However more than one formally in good standing member has been asked (told) to leave due to the nonsense and heated, threatening exchanges these things devolve into.

If they post and cite a specific person and associated statement, then sure it's worth it to respond politely if ya want, just for it to go publicly next to the nonsense statement.. but arguing the point is a waste of time.

my $.02

He used to be a member here - banned last month for some reason.
Isn't that self evident?

Two bits of advice that I received from my uncle in the heart of Cajun country when I was a boy:

1. If you're gonna rassle in the mud with a hog, you're automatically at a disadvantage because the hog LIKES rasslin in the mud.

2. When you walk up on 2 fellas fighting on the street corner, which one is the idiot?

KaiserB was banned from TexasCHLforum back in March. Me thinks I smell a motive. :thumbs2:

Chas.

I looked through that thread, saw what that individual had posted. Seems that no one really responded to him. That was for the best.

I don't think his tyrade got him the response he was hoping for. When I started this journey into self defense I joined every forum I could find, trying to learn all I could about guns and shooting. Only one forum allowed me to ask genuine questions without fear of being made to feel stupid or uninformed. I stopped reading all the other forums - full of high handed rhetoric, condescending comments to "the little lady", etc. I'm grateful for the respectful and patient folks here who are willing to listen and have intelligent conversations. I don't put much stock in whatever they say!

Thank you...
I trust you did not take that as lecturing you :tiphat: As that was not my intent... I apologize if it came across that way :thumbs2:

As other have noted, The troll was not fed on that other board... So it is a non issue in any case.

It's nice to be part of this forum here, where sanity and maturity is the standard and the petty stuff only rears it's head occasionally. :hurry: :hurry: :hurry:

You are stupid and uninformed. There, now it's like every other forum.
Kidding of course, but not kidding about other forums. This forum is BY FAR the best in terms of knowledge combined with polite members. It's also moderated extremely well. All these are key to this community.

My favorite thing about this place... you can't go far into a thread without someone quoting directly from the law. He mentioned conjecture being taken into classrooms, but I don't see much conjecture unless it's first based or discussed in the law. One of the most valuable things I've learned here is how to do my own research and never assume anything: look it up!
