Corpus Christi Vacation

Mrs. RAM and I are headed to the coast for some R&R. My question is, what places do I need to look out for as far as no carry is concerned? We will most likely hang out in town and do the touristy things in the afternoon. I'm most concerned with the aquarium. Any input on things to do and places to avoid would be much appreciated

. Thanks to the locals in advance for your suggestions. And due to the puggies, dog friendly places are a plus.

Jealous!
If I were going to Corpus and looking for a shotgun and had some $$$$ for that shotgun, I'd be checking out a place called Triangle Shooting Sports. There's supposed to be a guy there that does magic with shotguns.

The museum near the aquarium is worth the visit. They have two of the replicas of the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria there. I can't remember which two they have, but the third is somewhere near.

What about those two places being Posted 30.06? I couldn't find the info on the aquarium website, and they don't appear on 30.06.com. According to the website they are a private foundation that receives nothing from the state. I only want to call and ask as a last resort, because if they aren't I don't want to put any ideas out there for the possible anti that could answer the phone.

I don't know about the aquarium, as I've never been there. But I don't believe the museum is posted. I don't remember having to disarm there.

I think the big boat is owned by the state now, not federal, but it worth a look for any signage.
If you are flying in and renting a car, gas it up in town before heading out to the airport to drop it off. The station down the road is aware that it is the only gas station near the airport!@!!
The minor league baseball field is pretty neat. I like minor league parks. Check the schedule to see if they are playing.

I've visited Corpus Christi many times over the years. Once even flew on Southwest and checked my Beretta 92F. Now we usually drive from DFW in the minivan...
I have not seen one compliant 30.06 sign there since 1997 (when 30.06 passed). I have been going there since '92 when I met my (now) wife, who is from there. There are some parts of town where I really feel better carrying.
It's a great town and reminds me of Virginia Beach where I lived in the late '80's. Head a bit south to Padre Island for fantastic beaches.
Also there is a gun store I've always seen for 20 years now...and never went in. They are like 2 blocks from Mrs. ScottDLS parents' home, but never did get in to see it. Guess they must be OK since they are still there. I use the sign to figure out where to turn for the Mrs. parents house.
