After the Boston bombings, many of us were aghast at the overreach of the police. For me, this story makes the Boston situation pale by comparison
But for one couple, the decision to get a second opinion for their baby boy’s illness ultimately resulted in police forcibly removing the infant from their California home, RT.com reported.

Without a warrant, police let themselves inside the Nikolayevs’ home, grabbed Sammy from Anna’s arms and walked out. A camera that Anna set up in the living room recorded the entire event.
I understand that this is the People's Republic of Kalfornia where citizens don't have rights but given the gun confiscations that are already separately in progress in Kali, this is just plain scary. Based on the opinion of one doctor and because the parents did not follow that hospital's procedures, the child was taken by the State. If the news story is accurate, botched medical procedures played a part in what happened. As one who has had to defend his wife in a hospital against similar botched procedures, I have a lot of empathy for the parents.

For me, this is confirmation that those in power don't give a Tinker's darn about the Constitution and are willing to take any action that they choose without due process.

I hope the parents become very wealthy as a result of this travesty.

I can only say.... :mad5 :mad5 :mad5 :mad5 :mad5 :mad5 :mad5 :mad5 :mad5 :mad5 :mad5

There was a similar story out of Pennsylvania just before my youngest was born.

Long story short, the hospital called CPS and police and kicked these parents out of the hospital (without their baby) only hours after the baby was born. The most substantial claim against them was that they declined to immediately give the baby a Hep B shot unless the hospital could show them that either the mother or the baby tested positive.

That was definitely not a story I needed to read while 8 months pregnant! Talk about the stuff of nightmares.

Unfortunately, we are hearing more and more of this happening. Overreaching government control at all levels through laws and regulations that require reporting to authorities, combined with a power complex for CPS employees or others, and a lack of any consequences for erroneous decisions by those calling the shots has combined to allow this to happen.

..and here is another timely piece of information. Some of those in the mental health community will be in charge of deciding who is and who is not mentally fit to own a gun... including, perhaps, guys like this.

A psychiatrist pleaded guilty Wednesday and was sentenced to 30 days in jail for planting booby traps that injured Oregon mountain bikers riding down national forest trails outside Ashland.
