Police charged Dean with unlawful possession of certain ammunition feeding devices, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and other vehicle infractions.
You have to wonder how LE got from a burned out light bulb to all of the other charges. My conspiracy theory nose smells a setup.
I agree with gigag. This is as good of a test case as any to go up through the courts. I hope that someone will help the victim do just that.

Looks like the guy was also driving with a suspended license.

UPDATE
District Attorney Paul Czajka dropped a state SAFE Act charge Thursday in county district court against Hopewell Junction resident Gregory Dean Jr., who was the first person charged in the county under the controversal law since it was enacted last month.
Looks there is someone with common sense in NY.

I have not seen any action by NY legislators that exempts LEO's from the limit. So...........Since the PO's that arrested him were most likely in violation themselves maybe a smart DA wouldn't want explain how that can be.
