Not really a crime ... but I didn't know where else to put this.

Basically, a patron saw a bulge then the gun - he did have CHL. The cops escorted him out.
Anybody know if ShowBiz in Kingwood is posted? It is not listed on texas3006.com.

"The guy was quite embarrassed because knew the rules he didn't mean to have the pistol."
this makes it sound as if there was a 30.06 sign posted..

If he's given verbal notice, he has to leave or face trespassing charges.

Bad combination of gun/holster/clothing choices.

Actually what Mandel, the theater coordinator, said was "Cop found the guy, checked that he had a concealed handgun license, escorted him out of the building. The gentleman was quite embarrassed. He knows the rules. He didn't mean to have the pistol
show and end of story." It's a shame the reporters can't get a quote right. The way they "quoted" him, it made the concealed carry licensee appear he didn't mean to have the pistol which makes him look even more inept.
I don't think from what I have seen, the guy broke any laws by violating a 30.06 sign. It appears to me, there was no 30.06 sign. If he hadn't exposed his gun, there wouldn't have been any issue. Bottom line, he should have done a better job concealing his handgun.

Did anyone read the New Yorker oped on Taking cover in Texas. I do not know how to add a link, so you can search for new yorker take cover and should find it. It was published May 15, yesterday. It happened at the new Bush Library on the 11th. Quite a read. Only an idiot would mistake a toy gun with a bright orange tip for an active shooter. I thought in the beginning of the article he was not such a liberal, but as he went on it became obvious.
Edit to add: Author Lawrence Wright

No police report was filed, but McGuire said the officer also found a knife on the man and she questions what his real intentions could have been.
Wow, he had a gun AND a knife. Surely he was up to no good.

Two university policemen with automatic weapons and grim expressions shoved ammunition clips into their chambers and walked toward the front entrance.
How do you shove ammunition "clips" into their chambers?
Suppose the incident had happened at the other Bush library, the one for George H. W. Bush at Texas A&M, where it’s legal to display weapons openly unless they are used in a manner that “harms, threatens or causes fear to others.”
Didn't know it was legal to Open Carry at A&M.

Guess he forgot what concealed was....those buldges or printing as some like may be legal, but they get attention brought to yourself.

It must have become VERY obvious for someone to notice it. I used to worry about someone guessing until the folks here talked me out of that attitude over time, and my on-going experience showed me that they were indeed correct. Its not often we see these kinds of stories.

It sounded like there was more than just a bulge. Evidently, he also exposed the gun.

Well, I found it fascinating that she said she felt uneasy just looking at him. I don't know what to think of that.

What. A. Moron.
I have a buddy in Splendora. It's a small area. I will have him get word to her that she is an idiot, in case she hasn't figured it out yet. That easily could've been me while on baby-dady leave. I did not look clean cut. That would've been awkward.
