Multiple webcam video recording?

There are some very good webcams available today, including the Logitech C920. We are going to be doing a good bit of video recording at PSC (interviews, instructional videos, etc.) and I had planned to use multiple cameras for different simultaneous shots. However, based upon the reviews and demos I've seen, I've changed my mind at least for in-studio recording.

I have a very good suite of video editing software that makes it easy to edit multi-camera recordings. When doing this, I just load the video from each camera and select the camera "footage" I want at particular points on the timeline. Audio is currently recorded on a Zoom H4N using various microphones, but I may switch to simply recording the audio directly on the computer also, if testing shows the quality is good.

Here's my question: is there a way to record from multiple web cameras (3 to 4) to one computer, or will I need a separate computer for each camera? Each camera will also have to capture audio so I can sync the video, even though no camera's audio will be used for production audio.

Thanks,
Chas.

Never mind. I've found a lot of information and it can be done. There is a driver issue when running more than 2 cameras of the same model, but there are ways to work around it.

Strange. My Synology file server records four simultaneous camera streams from identical Panasonic ethernet cameras. No audio though, but I can always add a separate audio stream.
