Depends on which has the desired ammo in stock... I have had no recent luck with either, online or in store...

Try this site for .22 ammo
http://www.keepshooting.com/federal-ae2 ... ition.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Gunbot.net searches a variety of ammo supply websites and publishes the cost per round and wether it is in stock or not

Interesting first post by someone.
Especially when the site shows you 40 rounds for $9, or $0.225/round, when .22 LR ammo should be under $0.05/round (really about $0.03, I gave a 0.02 premium for the shortage)

What constitutes a good first post?

Didn't say your post was not "good" but that it was "interesting"
But since you asked, most first posts that I have seen on here are not posts that make you look like someone who will profit from $0.225/round ammunition.
but rather posts that are like : "Hi, I am new here and have questions" or "interested in getting my CHL....." or "I already have my CHL and have been just watching for a while ....." or many other types of posts.

No not looking to profit from my first post. With the trend today of ammunition being in short supply and astronomical prices on the internet, I was merely giving a suggestion as to an alternate way of finding ammunition in stock at the current lowest possible price. But sometimes you can luck out and be at the right place at the right time, as I was when I went to Cabelas last week and was able to find some 9mm ammo for $14.99 per 50 rd box. They had 25 boxes left and I was able to buy my max of 5 and when I found my son who was in the fishing gear area to go and get 5 more boxes they were already gone.

I would no sooner involve myself with a Maryland based company then I would buy salsa from New York City.

I stopped in at an Academy near San Antonio last week to buy a new standard magazine. I looked at the ammo selection. I have more than they did.
They didn't have the magazine either.

Thanks for the tip, much appreciation. However, I think I'll wait for saner prices. The only reason why I shoot 22lr is because it is cheap and saves money. However, at these prices, I'll just shoot my 9mm. I scored some 9mm from Academy last week for lower price than the 22lr on the keepshooting web page. Again, not complaining because at least you offered me some advice where nobody else had any helpful suggestions at all.
I think I'll buy an air gun from academy to practice with....

I was in Cabelas Ft Worth a couple weekends ago and they had Winchester .22LR at #29.95 per 500 round brick, in the little wooden boxes. Still too high, but they had it. Bought 2

Ya know, that might be my best option. Biz might be slow at that Cabela's because the new one in Allen is open now. The one in Allen is in civilzation but the one in Ft Worth is in the middle of freaking nowhere. Cows literally graze across the street from that Cabela's. I know that they get stock in on certain days and times. Anybody know what is the best day and times to try? I'd hate to drive 2 hours only to find out they've got nothing! I tried calling but nobody is answering the phone....
Thanks,

I resent being told that I am in "the middle of freaking nowhere", since I can see the Ft Worth Cabela's from my house.
We are civilized too!
And, FYI, those are not cows across the street - those are buffalo! Get your story straight, city boy.
