Doesn't graduation count as a school function?

Yes and it would be off-limits. No Carry and there is no need for 30.06.

Correct sir. I didn't want to carry today but did in case something bad happened. Having worked 2 active shooters at schools I worry. All Chl holders should be able to carry here IMO. Maybe someday these politicians will fix that. They are reading off the long list of names..glad I have my phone :-)

:iagree:

Congratulations on graduating high school finally. :biggrinjester:

Just kidding, we got our oldest out of high school last year and in to college. It was a big accomplishment and TBM was a proud momma for all the years of hard work. 1 down, three to go!

1 down 2 to go.. we will be doing graduation again next year for #2.... the City of Austin had a nice $40 parking ticket waiting for me.... apparently there was a fire hydrant near the marked parking space I was in. LOL wish I saw the ticket before I got home so I could take a photo of the alleged fire hydrant that I was supposedly near as that didn't make much sense. Oh well I guess the city needs my money. :smash:

My son is graduating next Saturday from HS at Reliant Stadium in Houston.

Boy, I sure would like to be allowed to carry at that event.

This year, we found out how many Texas state senators really feel about average Texans having the same right to protect their families at graduation and similar events.

Congrats to TJ and his oldest.

Well, this is a little bit of a gray area since many, including Charles, aren't so sure about school events that are not on property controlled by the school. Maybe it's different if you are actually attending the event.

I was recently thinking about this after hearing that Fort Worth is wanting to expand its convention center and start holding graduations. I started to wonder about whether or not carry would be prohibited because it was a school event or if it could not be prohibited because it was on city property and not a school.

Congratulations to your Daughter, and you and Mom, too. If I was in the audience, I'd be glad that you're there.
