Metal Mania tomorrow 4-15 at The Dallas Pistol Club

Post by HighVelocity »

Is anyone here going to be at this shoot? http://www.dallaspistolclub.com/metalmania.php

I'll be there and I am bringing the Wheel gun.

Anyway, if you see a guy ankle deep in brass with a UT cap on, say howdy.

Hope I see you there! I don't even know what the rules for this are. I just know I like the noise. Bang! Ding! Bang! Ding!

Simple minds, simple pleasures.

It sounds like steel challenge, check out: http://www.steelchallenge.com
You draw from surrender position, if you have 4 good runs, then speed way up on the last run of the stage. You shoot 4 plates (only needs to hit, plates don't fall) in any order; then hit the stop plate (5th).

So how did everyone do ?
Will you be going back for more ?
I've only seen once a .22LR revolvers used, never saw anothr revolver in steel challenge. So curious how things went.

It was a ton of fun! There were only 4 wheelgunners, I came in 2nd with my 4" S&W 686. Most of the plates are pretty big and not that far away but there were some 35 yard shots.
There were some very small pepper popper targets, about 12" tall and 3" wide. At 10 yards though, my front sight obscured the entire width. Those little things were tough. It pays to slow down on those.

I'll be back next month. Now that I know the rules, I'll be bringing a different gun. My 6" S&W model 28 "Highway Patrolman". I believe it's the perfect wheelgun for this game
