3AM: Home invaders break into a Louisiana home. The homeowner shoots 1 dead.
The homeowner is then arrested. It seems that the reason his home was invaded is because
he was dealing dope out of it.
The above link shows a photo of the modest home where this went down, and a picture of
the homeowner who got arrested.

However, the text of the news story is plain to see if you view the HTML code:
The victim of a home invasion early this morning on Paradise Street has been booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on drug charges, authorities said.
Joseph Johnlouis, 30, of Lafayette, was arrested by Lafayette police this afternoon on one count of possession with intent to distribute schedule II narcotics and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled substance.
“He was booked into the jail about an hour ago,” Cpl. Paul Mouton, spokesman for the Lafayette Police Department said just after 2:30 p.m. today.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the invasion at the 100 block of Paradise Street, which left one suspect dead.
Police have identified the armed suspect who was fatally shot as Spencer James Francis, 43, of Lafayette. According to Lafayette police, Francis was killed in the doorway as he and another suspect entered the home wearing mask and armed with pistols.
Police are searching for a second suspect and the driver of a light-colored four-door car he climbed into to flee the scene, Mouton said
According to investigators, two masked suspects armed with handguns forcefully entered a home in the 100 block of Paradise Street before 3 a.m. today. Neighbors said Johnlouis lives at the house with his wife.
Once inside the residence, the suspects exchanged gunfire with Johnlouis.
According to police Johnlouis fatally shot Francis. The second suspect ran from the scene and was observed entering a light-colored four-door vehicle.
There were no injuries within the home, and no charges have been filed in the shooting death. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
Detectives are encouraging anyone with information about the shooting or the identity of the second suspect to contact Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.

When one deals in dope, the risk of home invasion goes up exponentially.

As a faithful watcher of "The First 48" tv series, it seems that a HUGE portion of home invasions involve ones that drugs are sold out of. Goes with the territory I guess. What really gets me is the lack of respect or care for the safety of their family members that live with them. They have to know the huge danger they are placing them in

But, do they care? Methinks not.
