These simulations keep edging closer to tragedy.

An off-duty FBI agent, pumping gas at the time, saw the commotion and quickly pulled out a weapon to shoot the officer before being alerted that the fake perpetrator was actually a cop, according to the station.

"You had citizens who could've been hurt. A lot of people out here have CPLs now and carry weapons. They're tired of the crime that's going on in Detroit, and they might want to stand up and help somebody that's in this type of situation. It just so happened it's a gas station where the FBI fills up all their vehicles," Gargalino said.
Smart, really smart.

Not a ton of applicants for Detroit "on the scene" reporting I guess.
Honestly, I liked him... Refreshing (when sober

It'll stop only after 3-4 of the poor officers forced into this or a couple of innocent bystanders get killed by other LEOs (like almost happened here) or CHL holders.
Idiots!

That is a good example of why people should also be a good witness vs. just running into something blind.. they were very lucky as it could have been much worse.

Hmmmm. A trained and armed FBI agent should have just been a good witness? Really? I would think and hope that these would be the exact type of people we would WANT to get involved!

Yeah, not your typical on-the-scene reporter. Looks like someone that was walking by and the recruited as a reporter on the spot. Typical reporters dress a little more professional. They still don't know squat about what they are talking about, but at least they look good.

No, what it's a good example of is stupidity that will eventually get somebody killed.

So now, all the thugs know where the FBI buys gas for their bureau cars.

And this is all brought to us by a PD that cannot respond to the call workload that they have.
How is that they have time for multiple officers to be part of a staged event? I hope that the new police chief brings some sanity to the situation. He better bring his magic wand, too. It is going to take more than Harry Potter to fix the crime problems in Detroit.
