In the following article, State Rep Jonathan Strickland describes some of the threats and actions against him, and while not opening making a threat, he clearly states the following:

“It was horrendous,” he says, adding that he was “absolutely” worried about being the target of violence. “I continue to be very concerned about it,” he adds.

He says he and members of his staff have taken extra measures to protect themselves, and added that they are all licensed to carry concealed handguns. I asked him if he would be carrying a weapon during the special legislative session, and he said he couldn’t answer that question legally.

“I very, very often do concealed-carry, I can say that,” he adds.
While he is merely stating that he and his staff are CHL holders, and obviously never states that he will be carrying, his words leave very little to the imagination. Does an statement like he made help or hurt our cause?

My gut reaction is "good for him".

It helps our cause as long as he believes everyone is legal. It would not help if he felt he was entitled but the people that put him in office were not.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. And, especially because he is a legislator, that absolutely cuts both ways.
