Title says it all. Article is pretty accurate. Happened Tuesday night in Xenia, OH:

http://www.wdtn.com/dpp/news/local/gree ... ut-suspect

Glad there were no police shot.
Micah Tuck, 21, is accused of attempting to rob a video game store, then abducting two employees before he encountered police and the shootout ensued. . . .

"Quite frankly, as a department, we're very blessed," said Chief Randy Person. "The fact that we had that many rounds expended at that close a range, of that caliber, and I've got no officers in the hospital, no officers that lost their lives ... so we are a blessed department today."
At 21 years old, the perp's window of CHL eligibility has been a small one. I am so happy that he was not a Texas CHL, and may the legal system work upon him quickly.

Gun grabbing politicians backed by media will be all over this one with a swarm of new ideas. Our beloved Government / media will be the first ones to broadcast "One cannot persecute an entire Religion for the acts of a few", but let one crazy American create a crime with a gun and every single law abiding gun owner in America is now a fair target for restrictive new gun laws. I forget where I read that.

Cheers

WOW ! Makes you wonder what this guy was smokin ! Glad it was not in Texas , we have been very lucky that there have not been many incidents of a bad nature happen in Texas involving CHL holders . I hope Texas never gets to a point where you can just send in $35.00 and no classroom to get one , if they start just passing them out there will be more trouble and less expansion of good laws having to do with CHL's. Just my opinion .

So according to the title of the thread, you have already convicted him.

"Person said Tuck, a concealed carry owner with no criminal record, will face charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, and aggravated robbery."

And I do have to wonder what a "concealed carry owner" is.

Just as it is inevitable, in our society, that there will be people who commit crimes despite "unblemished" records, it is also necessary to point out, as stated above, that a single rotten apple does not spoil the barrel but that the "Religion of Peace" keeps showing us rotten apples.

Well, I know the lieutenant on the Xenia PD. He's the one who told me it was an Ohio concealed handgun licensee and it was his officers in the shoot-out. He is also a long-time supporter of concealed carry and a CHL and police firearms instructor, so I am not talking about an anti-gunner.

FWIW, Ohio's training requirements are more stringent than Texas with 12 hours required. The 21 year-old licensee was simply a thug.

No, it doesn't. But neither does it mention how many Sunday-school teachers and tobacconists did not commit a crime that day.

Even if the perp was duly licensed, every now and then, one slips through the cracks unfortunately. There will always be some bad apples, whether military, LEO or CHL. Unfortunately, when CHLs have a bad apple, people start clamoring for more restrictions...

Apparently, this guy is part of the fraction of a percent of CHLers that commit crimes and get caught. Unfortunately, the media may try to make him appear to be part of the 99.8% or whatever the percentage is that are law abiding.

There is plenty more to this story that will come out. No one just up & robs, kidnaps, and fires upon police - clearly this guy snapped.

And the saga begins.

Wow, they had 13 siblings. It does say that he is adopted but that is quite the litter.

It's interesting that the sister is not blindly defending her brother's innocence like most others would.

In texas since 1996, chl convictions account for .23% of total convictions.

Since mention of "concealed carry" wasn't even made until the second to last sentence, it's not likely to get played out much. The majority of agendaists don't have the attention span of a puppy with ADHD. So a buried link to citizen-carry + no children being murdered = not enough reason for them to get wound up.
