So looks like they skipped July. Seeing if anyone has an invite for August.

As fast as the chl's are getting printed I am hoping the instructors classes are going to follow suit.
My other thought is maybe they will wait until sept with the new changes.

I suspect you are correct and that they are so busy trying to catch rules and procedures up with pending law changes etc. that they may be calling off new classes. Also, they need to tweak their classroom presentations too.

I hope they don't wait until Sept for instructor renewals. We need direction. Probably have to have a new test. The CHL-100 changes could wait. :)

Register and attend the Firearms Instructor conference this August. It is my understanding that Sherrie Zgabay will be there, and maybe she can shed some light on a few things. I really hope so!

I'm registered. Anyone want to carpool from DFW?

I'm sure the legislature changes have left an impact and they are currently regrouping.
It's a tuff job when so many of the laws are changing and deciding how to update and present this must be time consuming.

I think he is talking about the 2013 Texas Firearms Instructors Conference at the Hobby Hilton, not the DPS August Instructor School.

They sure have a lot going on with all the legislative changes that just took effect, the majority of instructors needing to renew by year's end, and the new school class that needs to be developed. It sounds like they are busier than the proverbial one-legged man in a tap dancin' contest!

Not a big surprise that an August class didn't happen and it's pretty late in the game for notification about a September class, so here's to hoping that they manage to fit in an October class for new instructors along with all the other stuff going on.

Yea I was really hoping the sept class would materialize, but it makes sense that they need to get the instructor renewals sorted out as a priority.
