As if DPS does not already have plenty on their plate with law changes and gobs of CHL instructors to recertify before the end of the year, it looks like they need to be cranking on a lesson plan and class schedule for this one as well:

I was trying to find some info on the curriculum for this earlier. I am curious on to how this certification will be implemented and such since I work at school. Looks like we will just have to wait and see.

I emailed Sherrie Zgabay about this several weeks ago. Offered to be the guinea pig, teacher in my district, etc., etc., and I have gotten no response. I'm not upset, as I know that have a ton of changes going on. Hopefully she will be able to shed some light on the program at the Firearms Instructors Conference in August.

.
..certain qualified handgun instructors...
It will be interesting to see how this class is put together by the DPS. Will it be strictly classroom or will it entail more hands on? I am guessing the legislative changes has given them all plenty to do.

It will be interesting to see how they develop the curriculum and get 'qualified' instructors ready to go by the implementation date of 9-1-2013.
