You should probably look at the original article that the above article received it's data from. It even states that
"Police and sheriff's offices often consider Hispanics as an ethnic group and record their race as white or black. As a result, some Hispanics
may be counted in their race category in the Times' calculations."
So this statement show that the stats can be wrong and even with that above article it speaks about 133 cases when the times says it goes off of nearly 200, just showing that the statistics could be incorrect. I hear a lot of times that how most statistics that we hear about regarding anything besides sports can be taking with a grain salt.
Also states that African Americans are more then likely to the victim "Defendants claiming "stand your ground"
are more likely to prevail if the victim is black. Seventy-three percent of those who killed a black person faced no penalty compared to 59 percent of those who killed a white."
Meaning no matter what race killed them victim, white, black, hispanic etc. if the victim is black the defendant has a chance.

SYG generally benefits people who aren't a danger to society and hurts people who are. I don't know how that breaks down by skin color, sex, or religion and I don't much care. I prefer to judge people by the content of their character.

How can the criminal be the "victim"?
Maybe I read that wrong but with logic and reasoning in a Justified Self Defense case, one assumes that the "victim" is the one whom had to defend oneself, and the "criminal" is the one whom was stopped from committing the criminal act.
Of course we can turn logic upside down since that's what our beloved Government does.
