A Houston woman pulled a rifle from her trunk while pumping gas and shot and killed a man who decided to make repeated sexual advances at her. She said no and he produced a knife.

It is being submitted to a grand jury.

Interesting. I hope this is ruled a lawful shoot. Not sure about the law and long guns in self defense situations in public.

whats weird is she supposedly shoots the guy and then whips out the cell phone to record what she had done?!?

I hope it is that once he pulled a knife and menaced her, it was fight's on!, no holds barred. I can't see any other result in those circumstances.

Long guns are legal weapons. I see no problem with the type of gun used. Well, unless it's a fully automatic "assault" weapon. She used it to end an assault so the rifle she used is an anti-assault weapon?

Looks like he had plenty of opportunity to leave once she pulled the rifle. She appears to keep it pointed at the ground until he took a swing at her face (assume with knife, wouldn't really matter if not though). Lucky for her she isn't "white"

I don't know the law about having the firearm out but I got to say after seeing the vid I don't have any problem with her shooting him.

She should have left, didn't have cause to take out the rifle, may bad decisions, but when she fired he was going after her so..........

Hmmmm. She left the scene and may have shot another person by accident. Since she did it makes me wonder if something shady was going on if that is the case then it couldn't' be a good shoot. She should get some charge but I'm glad I don't have to decide.

Self Defense is Self Defense.

I saw she discharged a round to the floor a second or 2 before he swings at her and she retreats. Why in the world she let him too close?!!
I cannot judge who was the aggressor here. More info is needed.

But no law against having a rifle out in public as long as it is not held in a threatening manner.

And walking down the street with a shouldered rifle, is also not illegal, but will probably result in some discussions with LE.
