Stand Your Ground laws date to 1877 at least

This isn't something new except for the fact that some states have recently codified it.

It was probably just common sense before that and didn't require a law.

Cannot remember the particulars but we had a Texas case where someone killed another person and claimed stand your ground. Jury decided that person had provoked the incident and was not on their own property and ruled killing a murder.

Was that the incident where the guy took a camera over to his neighbor's house to tell them to turn down the noise, and was yelling about being in fear of his life on the video?

I heard about that. He killed them and was convected of murder.

Trayvon's Mon is doing the tours and preaching change of the law and fight against racism.

I would say to Trayvon's mom:
Trayvon's Mom, she should self-confess that she failed raising her kid, Trayvon. A broken Marriage, and son who was a drop out from school and was expelled for weed and confiscated burglary tools. He smoked weed, was active street-fighter, and addicted on "lean" steet-drug and actively seeking codeine. Before attacking others, come out clean and say "I failed raising my kid", and "Do not fail your kids".
