Did Kate Middleton Use UK's National Health Care?

Post by sjfcontrol »

So, was the Royal Heir birthed under Britain’s “world class” National Health Service? (Spoiler Alert!) Nope!

When Britain’s two religions — socialized medicine and the Royal Family – come into conflict, the winner is anybody’s guess.
I would propose that pretty much anyone could have seen the result of THAT conflict -- no contest!

Of course not! I don't blame her. I blame the politicians that enacted that travesty of a health care system.

I heard they had no air conditioning and it was a "stifling" 79 degrees in London. I don't know how they managed such an unbearable heat wave.

Remember, London typically has humidity levels around 150% :smilelol5:

I don't think the royals have every used the public health system. If I remember there are two systems, private and public. You buy health insurance, so you can go to the private system. Of course you pay for the public system too with your taxes.

Lets see if I can remember my two favorite news stories about England's system.

1. A man called police from his cell phone to say he was dieing in the hospital from lack of care, he hadn't had a drink of water in two days.
Police responded and went to hospital, demanded to see man. The police were denied admittance, but were assured that he would be properly cared for and given a drink of water.

He later died, cause of death was given as dehydration. When the newspapers reported that he had called police about needing water and later died of dehydration. Nurses on duty at the time needed grief counseling, so they could deal with their mistake.

2. The chief neurosurgeon at London's largest public hospital was in the hospital cafeteria. He returned to the line and grabbed a dessert and returned to his table. He was written up for stealing a dessert. At his hearing, he said he had forgotten to get a dessert when he was in the line, and had simply returned to get the one he had paid for. The hospital board sentenced him to one week suspension.

He spent the week gardening. At least five of his patients who had surgery scheduled for that week died as he was the only one who could perform the brain surgery they required.

Our future.

I lived there for 4 1/2 years. I loved my time there and tried to see as many castles and historical places I could.

I felt I learned so very much about the British mindset, and understand them better as a culture. One particularly funny thing was their workplace catch phrase, "Health & safety". If its something a worker does not want to do, they claim health and safety laws to get out of it. We once had a student on crutches struggle getting in the touring bus, the driver backed away and said... "Health and Safety!". So now if there is anything unpleasant that needs to be done, I claim it too. Lol. Doesn't ever work though! Lol

I heard it was 6 thousand pounds a night, she only stayed one night.

And yes, it does get very hot there. We used ceiling fans and standing fans as most homes do not have AC. Ours didn't and I know the electric bill would have sunk us anyway. A great way to cool off was in our vehicle or to stop and visit the butcher cuz he's the only shop on the high street with AC. Lol.
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

I recall a Benny Hill sketch comparing NHS and private hospital care.
