I just pulled a couple of quotes. Read the article and tell me if this isn't scary. Imagine what this could turn into.

In a move some academics warn is a case of government claiming to know what's best, document obtained by FoxNews.com shows the White House is forming a new team that will try to subtly influence people's behavior.

"Ultimately, nudging ... assumes a small group of people in government know better about choices than the individuals making them."

The .gov has been doing it for decades through the tax code. I guess they're being less opaque these days.

I consider it my patriotic duty to resist any and all such "nudges." The USSR had a name for this kind of effort: The CPSU (Communist Party of the Soviet Union). Between IRS abuses, diplomatic fecklessness abroad, NSA spying on citizens, spying on the press, and now this, we are inches from having the communist America the democrats desire.

You might say that democrats don't want communism. I say poppycock......look at democrat voting records, look at whom democrats elect, and what those democrat elected (and appointed) officials have done in the past and are now currently doing to convert us into a third world socialist nation, not at what they say. What they say isn't worth a dry popcorn fart in a windstorm.

I thought the gov't already has a "nudge squad" called "mass media"...

In the Soviet Union they called it a five-year plan. Of course the liberals know what's best for everyone else. And if the nudge doesn't work to their satisfaction, well, they may have to push. And if you don't like being pushed.....well then, how about a shove you anti-social reactionary? And listen you anti-social reactionaries, if you don't like being shoved, they've got other means at their disposal. Remember the liberal mantra...one death a tragedy, a million deaths? just a statistic.

Everything they do now nudges me to buy guns, ammo, and stock up on essentials. They also nudge me towards believeing more and more that DC is out of control. Nothing new there.

Yes. We should definitely model ourselves after the UK where nudge teams are already in place. Because other things such as healthcare and gun control have worked so well over there... /sarcasm off.

On another note I saw where they mention a note to delinquent tax payers results in a nudge causing them to pay their taxes. If they are intent on doing this, perhaps they should start with all of the federal employees who are delinquent on their federal taxes as a pilot program.

No surprise here. Cass Sunstein, the regulatory czar's book is entitled,"Nudge." I recall Glen Beck talking about this years ago. Nothing new.
