An appeals court ruled Tuesday that the city's Board of Health exceeded its legal authority and acted unconstitutionally when it tried to put a size limit on soft drinks served in city restaurants.

The question is...will they take it to heart, or do what so many have been doing these days and simply ignore a court ruling they don't like?

I doubt they'll take it to heart. Note the comment from the article:

The city's law department promised a quick appeal.

"Today's decision is a temporary setback, and we plan to appeal this decision as we continue the fight against the obesity epidemic," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said in a statement.

The fact that New Yorkers would tolerate a political thug that wants to be king speaks volumes about their character. I don't mean dishonest, just that they clearly don't value freedom as do most of the south and west (excluding California of course).

You shouldn't count dishonest out, Charles, NY City politicians rank right up there with Chicago politicians in using dishonest means to further personal agendas.

I spent 3 years working in the NY State Capitol and legislature as a telephone man, and saw the dishonesty first hand, and although that was 40 years ago, I have no reason to expect that things have changed.

I fully agree about the politicians running the city. I was talking about the residents who are willing to submit to increasing invasion of personal freedom.

One would think that if you promote and pass a law that is found unconstitutional, this would be a mark on your career, and something that would follow you the rest of your days on earth.

I over reached my powers in my elected office and violated the constitution of the United States of America.

I denied untold numbers of American's their rights.

Think he cares?
