I am going Saturday to the Majestic in downtown Dallas. I have read some post that its ok to carry at the Majestic because its owned by the City of Dallas and or no signs. Can anyone update me about this. Downtown Dallas isn't that bad of a place but I would rather be on the safe side as a license CHL holder and just carry my gun. Help??? Answers?????

Yes.. owned by the City of Dallas.

The Hoblitzelle Foundation gifted the Majestic to the City of Dallas in January 1976. After major restoration, the Theatre reopened on January 28, 1983 as a performing arts venue.
Currently used by national promoters to present performing arts events, concerts and comedy shows, the Theatre is also available for corporate meetings, nonprofit fundraisers and private functions. The Majestic Theatre is managed by the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs.
Looking on TABC web site, I don't see any liquor licenses issued to the theater...
ETA: FYI..
I ran the search first by the name "Majestic" and came up with only liquor stores.
Then I searched the location "195 Elm St, Dallas" and got " ***No Records Found*** "

No, I think he says that he can't find any records that would prevent a CHL holder from entering the premises.
You have to decide beyond that if you're good to go or not.

I am 100% certain it is a city owned and operated building.
They took it over a year or so ago and kicked out the union stage hands.

Thanks for translating...
Here's the deal..... If I am asking this question, I answer it in two parts.... maybe 3..
1. Who owns the building?... If it's city or state owned, it SHOULD not be posted. Sometimes it is... For example, if a school owned it, it would be posted. If it was otherwise explicitly prohibited by law (see CHL-16), it could be posted... What I see for this location is that it's a theater, owned by the city of Dallas... that falls in the "should not be posted and if it is I need to question the validity of posting" category.
2. Does the premises have a liquor license and if yes, is it Red (CHL prohibited) or Blue (CHL ok). In this case, TABC shows no liquor licenses issued for this address.
3. Even if 1 and 2 come up "CHL should be ok", it still might be posted anyway... or there might be metal detectors on site... or who knows what..
So..... from what I can see CHL should be ok... but.. you would be more certain if somebody chimed in and said "i was there last week and it was not posted", or something similar.. I cannot say for certain that it's ok to CHL, but if I was going to the Majestic, I would carry and I would look for signs or other prohibitions that did not come up in my search.. Your mileage may vary.

I haven't been there in a while (2-3 years) but it was posted when I visited previously.
I know that doesn't help you much.

Took my son (17 yrs old and already enlisted in the Army on the delayed entry program) to see Marcus speak at the Patriot Tour in Austin Friday night. What a great bunch of Americans. The stories are all real and from the heart. If any has a chance to go it is something not to be missed. God bless America and God bless our troops.

I saw Brian Regan there in October 2009 and carried into the theater, no problem.

I carried there last night to see Marcus. No (legal) signs, no metal detectors, no wands, no problems. I've never felt safer around a group of people before.
On a side note: I wondered how many SEAL Team members were in the audience.

Update on what I saw last night at the Majestic. I saw a metal gun busters sign mounted on a 3 ft. pole inside the lobby. Definitely nothing legal. I also saw a paper sign stating basically any person not legally carrying a firearm will be prosecuted. There were no metal detectors or anyone wanding people. Like Monk said I never worried one time laving the theater to the parking garage. Oh and The Patriot Tour is absolutely worth every second of your time.
