The moment George Zimmerman was pulled over by cops in Texas for speeding on Sunday - he told them he had a GUN and was 'going nowhere in particular'
Dramatic dash-cam footage reveals the moment that George Zimmerman was pulled over by a police officer in Texas for speeding and told them he was carrying a gun.
Just over two weeks since his dramatic acquittal for the murder of Trayvon Martin, 17, in Florida, Zimmerman was caught speeding in Forney, Texas, on US Highway 80 just past FM 548 just after noon.
While Zimmerman, 29, is not seen in the footage, he told the police officer he was headed 'nowhere in particular' and revealed that he was carrying a firearm in his pick-up truck's glove compartment.
I say, "Welcome to Texas, George!" Hope you have better luck here. I think it's hilarious how The Guardian put "GUN" in all caps.

The media is already blowing this out of proportion with many people incredulous that he wasn't arrested for carrying the gun. I guess they missed the "not guilty" verdict or just don't care about laws.

Listen to the LEO when he gets back to the cruiser w/GZ docs. Listen for the camera click and text message being typed and sent.

Well, I'm glad to see he "took my suggestion" to come to the Southwestern USA.
Now, if he can take just a little lead out of the right foot, he'll hopefully be good to go.

I don't get it -- how'd he get pulled over? When the dashcam starts, the cop is WAY behind him, passes a car then speeds up. The first time we see the truck, it's already pulled over to the shoulder.

H saw the lights and, knowing he was speeding, did the responsible thing and pulled over. I've done it. Pawpaw's done it (at least once that I know of). I'm sure others here have as well. No real mystery on this one.

Typical Texas stop. Oh, you have a gun? Sir, I'd appreciate it if you would just leave that in the glove compartment while I check on wants and warrants. If you don't have any, I'll let you go with a warning - try to keep your speed down, OK?

So, what was the LEO snapping a pic of and texting? Who was he texting? If he was sending out info on GZ, that would be wrong.

Really? Perhaps I'm just a wishful thinker, but if I saw lights and sirens something like a quarter mile behind me, I would NOT presume they were after me (well, unless I'm doing triple digits, or something). I would be slowing down and hoping they were after someone else -- or just trying to get somewhere fast. I certainly wouldn't pull over until they make it clear they want ME. But then I don't speed much, and never faster than other traffic. So they could just as well be after someone else other than me. Seems like a strange thing to do.
