So I just finished my class a week ago. The CHL checklist you're supposed to send has a spot for CHL 6 form. The CHL 6 form now says it should only be sent if you don't have a valid TX ID. So, I didn't bother to send passport photos or the CHL 6 form. On the checklist, I just put "N/A...please use TX DL# xxxxxxx".

Should I be good to go? Even my CHL instructor who is a cop didn't realize you didn't need the CHL 6 form anymore.

Yes, you are good to go. The requirement for the passport photos and CHL 6 form changed back in June.

I sent my app in April with CHL-6 and photos. received my CHL in July with an insert that said they were using DL photos for security purposes. (doesn't look a thing like me now, but I am younger :) )

Go to a DL location before your next renewal and get a replacement DL for 25.00 with new picture. Give it a Month or so ahead of your renewal application on your CHL so it will be in the system.
