[Sarcasm]OMG, how can they allow a kid to have guns like that. He and his parent need to be arrested. A serial killer in the making. [/Sarcasm]

I did and I love these old toy gun commercials. Whenever they would come on TV, my Mom and Dad just looked at each other knowing I'd be asking for one when the commercial ended. Everything is relative, but $7.00 for everything?
Chas.

Nowadays we're seeing young men who've never shot a gun - real or EVEN a toy - who've never had a bloody nose at school to teach them manners or been spanked on the butt because consequences exist... yep, we're raising a real bunch of winners.
They've shot plenty of guns...in Call of Duty. That also makes them foremost leading experts on all things firearms and shoulder fired rockets don'tchaknow.

I cannot say how much I envy that kid. I had some cool machine guns in my day, but these were sweet. My favorite toy gun was the wood & metal bold action rifle. Had a wood bullet on a spring that made it appear you were loading it. My best friend and I figured out a way to remove the bold and cut the fake bullet free. That way we could load/unload it just like our dad's real guns worked.

According to my parents I was a "little too old for those."

Mrs. Oldgringo's grandsons, age 10 and 14, have never had any toy guns. One time we drove 600 miles (each way) and I tried to be grandfatherly bringing a Daisy Red Ryder and an air soft pistol and targets. That was a disaster. "Never again", quothe the Raven. The Red Ryder and pistol came back to Texas with me.
Their mother has defriended me on Facebook, their Dad is afraid of their mother; ergo, the whole lot of 'em ain't on my 'stop and visit' list no more.
OTOH, life is good; it's their loss.

I had a Nichols Colt .45 Stallion made right here in good ole Pasadena, Texas. It predated Mattel shootin' shells and had a two piece brass and zinc bullet that shot out of the barrel. Had the holster too. They were the best cap pistol ever made and the Stallion took the toy industry by storm in 1950. It was named "Toy of The Year" at the New York Toy Fair. Can you imagine the furor that would create now?
