Not many details. Hopefully he was doing the right thing and had no choice but to shoot.

Does not sound good for the CHLer so far, I hope he used his brain instead of his ego.

+1 on the "brain usage".
Given recent events, we know that "news stations" are more likely to be incorrect, short on facts or are outright lying when it comes to these things. I prefer to wait and hear more facts and less "news" before I form an opinion or come to a conclusion. The media's job is to sell advertising; hence the "headlines" they trumpet.
"If you don't read the papers, you are uninformed; if you do, then you are misinformed." (Mark Twain, I believe).
There are at least 2 sides to every story and sometimes a lot more than that. I'm satisfied waiting on more facts.

I was going to say the same thing. Anyone familiar with this area? I wonder if there was a 24hr store or restaurant they were at at 1am? Hopefully he was in legal possession and not at a bar in the shopping center. Not sure why he would intervene, but I'm sure media will put their own spin on it.

if one is not directly involved but that concerned they should call 911 and wait in the lot in their locked car. there are time when acting is the only choice and I think we all understand that

Well, the girls all get prettier at midnight, for one thing.

And I get better looking, I dance better and I sing a whole lot better. In all reality, I am home in bed by 10pm.

Just sayin'...... I've been popped before for posting maybe
half of a short article like this one. You might want to edit your OP.

At least one local city has a protocol that requires 2 officers to respond on every DV call. There is a reason for that.
I do not want to see a woman assaulted in public but it is going to take a very special set of circumstances for me to do anything but call 911 and be a good witness on any DV situation, especially after midnight.

I hope he was doing right and he probably had good intentions, but I'm afraid he put himself in a situation that he could have avoided, therefore could have avoided pulling the trigger. Of course there are few specifics into the true need of intervention so its hard to say. My buddy is a LEO and says domestic disputes are the worse call...never know when person making call is gonna flip when you arrest their significant other! The woman and her testimony may be his only chance.
I wonder what toll the arrest will play in the big picture?

Dont get involved in a 3rd party situation unless you know that know what is going on.
And he may have. Hope he was justified.

Once again, MY conceal carry is to protect ME, MY FAMILY, and perhaps my property. Others can do what they want, but I have to do what I believe to be the right thing for me and mine. I 100% understand that law enforcement has their job, and the authority to do it, and I do not.
