Our good friends (and our son's in-laws) are sending their newly adopted Ukrainian 16 yr. old daughter with limited English comprehension to the first day of school tomorrow. To say we are all very apprehensive would be an understatement. The daughter has a new Samsung slider phone but only has basic service. Phone and Text. Does anyone know if there is tracking software available for non-internet phones? It is less about tracking her texts and more about locating her if she gets lost or worse. I have searched the web but wading through all the smartphone apps is tiring.

And before this gets derailed into a Public vs. Private vs. Charter vs. Homeschool discussing this is about getting her into the "system" so she can get some of the testing and help she needs. Sort of establishing an educational "identity".

Might be best to contact the cell phone company if the phone doesn't have GPS or internet.

You might want to check out the Life 360 app. I use it for my family members and it works great for smart phones and is supposed to work on basic phones as well. I have no experience with using it on basic phones though.
