CMP M1 Garand "misdelivered" by FedEx

Maybe should be posted under "Prayer Requests", but my package from the CMP that was ordered back in May was delivered to the wrong address (and signed for by someone) yesterday. FedEx was supposed to hold at the local store for me to pickup but failed to do so. FedEx is now attempting to locate and retrieve the package. I've also notified CMP by email. Wish me luck!
Needless to say I felt like this when I found out -
If I have to wait several months for a replacement I will feel like this -

You know, someone signed for it, so the delivery guy already had to stop and talk to someone... Maybe they should start asking if they're at the correct address and if the signer knows the addressee. Obviously people could easily lie about both, but it couldn't hurt...
I hope it all works out for you.

Maybe. I had a few "signature required" packages left on my porch over the years. One of these days, I may just say the package wasn't delivered. Technically speaking,
it's not delivered to me if the driver leaves it somewhere in violation of their own rules.

We've had "signature required" packages dropped on the porch, no knock or anything (I've been home near the door and heard the "thump" when they dropped the package), no signature, and shown up on the tracking page as delivered and signed for. I've also had them show up with the delivered/signed status about an hour before actual delivery. Last time it happened we made a real stink about it and it hasn't happened since. I'd definitely take it up with the manager at your FedEx location and make it really clear that you're unhappy. Maybe a police report for a stolen gun if nothing turns up quickly? Might be worth having a record of something... and it might motivate FedEx to figure out what happened.
Good luck!!

If they can't find it quick, I would definitely file a police report for the stolen gun. Maybe even call the local BATFE office.

It does not say whose signature is required..... so the driver signs it sometimes before it is delivered so it looks like it got there on time.

Last week I had 12 cases of 5.56 delivered with signature required and they just left it at the door. Could reported it not delivered especially since I paid $.99 for insurance

They put the serial number of the rifle on the e-store information, so at least you have that for a Police report.

I've had nothing but trouble with FedEx out here in ranch land. A few months ago they dropped off a package for me and two long boxes for somebody about 30 miles away in Doss. Called FedEx twice about the wrong delivery and after about a week of no-show we called the owner of the two packages and my wife met him and gave him the packages (two fishing rods.)
Never heard a peep out of FedEx.
It is my belief that FedEx is poorly managed, business is declining, costs are being cut and service is going in the toilet- a death spiral.

Has this been resolved yet?

Wow, talk about a major screw up; miss delivering a rifle! I'd feel awesome if I received a Grande I didn't order, makes you wonder what was going through the person's head who received it?
I wish you luck getting this issue sorted out.
This guy received a Sig716 in a miss delivery.

Ground or Express? All of my Fedex problems have been with the Ground, which seems to be franchised out. I have been told, but never checked on, that all the Ground operations not in major cities were now done by franchise. I think this is why there are so many problems with FedEx these days.

UPS misdelivered a case of wine to my house. Exactly one month later they came and picked it up.
