I don't know if it is possible but I would be interested to know if anyone here carries a full size 1911 OWB? I am more concerned about conceal ability as opposed to weight. If anyone does carry in this manner, would you mind indicating the holster you use?

I have a Whitehat Slide (OWB) holster for my 1911.
I don't carry it often, but it is not hard to conceal, as long as you use a loose cover garment (Jacket, Hawaiian shirt, etc)

I carry a full frame 1911 with a DM Bullards Dual Carry set up OWB, and wear one size bigger Long tail shirts.

Raven concealment system. It has been 2 yrs since I carried my 1911 but that is a fine holster if you like Kydex.

Don Hume 721OT

Plain, no frills, well made, economical. This holster is my favorite of all OWB holsters I own.

I use the same exact Don Hume for my full size (its my EDC) and I love it. Occasionally (when I'm out in the woods usually) I use a Blackhawk Serpa holster. I can conceal in the right T Shirt, BUT it is easier and much more comfortable wearing a light weight cotton or under armor shirt as an under shirt with a decent button up shirt over top. I have a few from Eddie Bauer, Columbia, Under Armour and Dickies. Depending on your build, you will want your over shirt to be one size larger.

Thanks everyone for the info.
MoJo and teraph - I actually thought of the Hume 721OT before I brought up this subject here. I have a couple of the 721 for different guns and really like them and they do make one for the full size 1911. I may look at the Hume. Only problem with them is they have become so popular that the last time I checked with them they had a 4 -6 month wait and they wanted money up front. When I first started buying holsters from them the wait was like 6-10 days. But you cannot beat their product for the price and quality.

My vote goes to the D.M. Bullard Dual Carry. I have owned a couple of them. Great holster. Has the right amount of cant and holds up very well.

once i receive my plastic will be carrying a SR1911 for my EDC, testing out a few holsters in the mean time... favorite right now is the Blackhawk Serpa CQC, can switch between a paddle and belt setup... have a Tagua OWB which i like okay and a Tagua IWB which I will probably use for that, for the OWB's know will have to get some different shirts... like the Blackhawk, some much easier to draw than the Tagua's

Amen! I've used one for competition and carry since 1992. Great quality for the price.

Definitely not my EDC but I do like it with a dinner jacket that I know isn't coming off.
