Mandatory helmet laws actually make bikes less safe. Put a helmet on and motorist think you was made of adamantium and are completely indestructible

Thanks for the education. I thought that I knew every element in the periodic table, but I had never heard of adamantium.

From Wikipedia:
Adamantium is a fictitious indestructible metal alloy in the Marvel Comics Universe. It is best known for being the substance bonded to the character Wolverine's skeleton and bone claws.

I thought it was the bicyclists who thought they were indestructible, at least most of them in the Allen area act that way.

I agree.. I give them a safe distance, but groups of bikes regularly run stop signs and roll around corners on red lights or stop signs without a full stop. If they ride on the road, they should follow the rules of the road everyone else has to..

Single riders, regularly around here, not just big groups that use the excuse that the lead riders stopped and they consider themselves to be one vehicle, and besides the traffic behind would not want to wait for everyone to stop.

Nothing a good slap on the back of the head with a side view mirror won't cure.
