The good: My youngest turned 13 today...Happy birthday dude
The bad: My wife is allowing about 9 kids to spend the night? What was she thinking
Two photos taken over the past 2 years... For anybody that whines about kids shooting note he has hearing protection and eye protection

On top of that it is NOT illegal nor a child safety issue to take a child shooting

hey, while I was in FL last week, I took my youngest to a college tour! He graduates this year!!!? Hmmm, I homeschool, I could hold him back

I'm definitely not old enough to have both of my kids out of school!

I seldom feel MY birthdays, I feel every one of theirs.
You should take your wife out tomorrow night, after having 9 kids spend the night tonight, she's going to need it.

Enjoy him!
My youngest son stepped in front of a car on his way home from school when he was almost 13. That was the Monday before Thanksgiving in 1981....I still miss him and what might have been.

My 13 yo loves to shoot and loves to fly. He is on schedule to solo in a glider on his 14th birthday (can't legally solo earlier). He and his 11 yo brother keep me running during the day and on my knees at night.
Oldgringo,
My boys are so much of my life that I can't imagine it without them. I am deeply sorry for the losses in your life that I have read about today.

Do we have members here that have an issue with kids shooting?
I taught mine to shoot when each was about 5 years old. Not so much because I wanted them to shoot and learn gun safety, but because it took the mystery out of it. Best child gun safety tool in the world is to make guns a bit routine. I assume this is preaching to the choir...?
Oh.. and...
Congratulations Dad.!

Consider yourself blessed. I have two daughters and both learned how to shoot at a young age but have no real interest. My grandson at age 7 loves to shoot and at this point is limited to air rifles with pawpaw cocking and reloading the Gammo each time. My grandson will probably inherit my collection which is growing larger by the day.

Probably not here, but I have seen people try to make issues about kids safely shooting firearms. We started at 5 as well with the chipmunk 22.. Great little weapon.
