This is a sad sign of the times. We used to respond to these type of shootings in SO CAL but not here in TX :banghead: . I actually couldn't believe how you never read about a shooting here in Austin. Then something changed and wham some type of shooting is a daily if not weekly occurrence.
A party at a Manor home Thursday night turned violent when two male teens were injured in a shooting following an altercation at the residence, a Travis County sheriff’s official said early Friday

Noticed they took the two injured teens to a convenient store in a car and then called 911 from there.

Sure looks like they did not want Police noticing illegalities by responding to the house.

Soon people will be required to get permits in order to have parties in their homes. Of course you will be required to pay for off duty officer presence before, during, and after the party. Those found to be in violation could face up to 30 days in jail or a $10,000 fine.
Just a matter of time - can't believe some of the screwballs in Austin haven't thought of it already.

This was actually in my neighborhood, and not only that but in the same house that my friends used to live in.

The offspring of the residents that moved in after they left are total trouble. In the past the teenage male that lives there has been observed drinking beer, smoking pot, and peeing in the yard while waiting for the school bus. The street itself is a study in contrast. That house (and street) literally has thugs and trouble magnets on one end, and standup school teachers, friends of mine, and church pastors on the other.

On the other side of the coin, the good news is the shooter was caught.
