Wife and I have reservations for Monday (16th), our 25th anniversary. Any thoughts on the restaraunt, other than expensive?

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of RC. I've been to many a business dinner at RC and it's just ok, for me.

I think Kirby's in Southlake is better, with similar atmosphere. Bob's in Grapevine is good too.
I've still never been to Del Frisco's... But a friend gave me a gift card for my birthday. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

I usually prefer to make steak at home. I like my steaks well seasoned. Maybe that's why I don't really care for RC, I find their steak fairly "plain".
Last time I was at Kirby's I had the rack of lamb... it was spectacular.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY.!! :thewave

What I've enjoyed about the two or three Ruth's Chris that I've eaten in (years ago) was the fact that somebody else was picking up the tab. :woohoo

my honey took me there for our Anniversary Last year. I thought it was really nice. The one here sets the table special, takes a picture, I think they gave us a little Champ. We had a great waitress, she took extra care with my casein allergy offering to swap items without my asking first. (that's actually one reason why I like going to more upscale places)

It has a nice atmosphere. It is expensive. Everything is a la carte. It is expensive. Good steaks. Don't burn your tongue / mouth. Those suckers are hot when they first bring them out...

Wonderful steaks cooked exactly as you want it, their creamed spinach is delicious, the atmosphere is great, everything is expensive but enjoy and celebrate.

That one is on my list to try.
My thoughts? You both have earned it. Enjoy!

Don't know about the ones around here, but loved the one in NOLA. Unbelievable steak.

We've been to one a few times. Good food. Nice quiet atmosphere. Excellent service. One of my pet peeves with restaurants is the "hovering" waitstaff-- constantly interrupting, checking "is there's anything else I can get you...." mode. It tends to make us feel hurried-- like get out my table. That hasn't been the case at our visits to RCs. The waitstaff was responsive, yet not in the way as they should be at a classy restaurant.

Bottom line-- we'd go back.

Order the steak Oscar. You won't regret it. Ruth's Chris is the kind of place you go for special occasions (unless you're rich). Expect to spend around $50 per person or slightly more.

I've eaten steak at Ruth's Chris, Del Friscos, Bob's Chop and Steak House, III Forks, Pappas Brothers Steakhouse and Chamberlain's Steak and Chop House. They're all good. They're all expensive. They all have excellent service, attentive wait staff and simple menus. They all have great atmosphere, especially for an intimate dinner.
