Because thats the only way to get their agenda heard. Sad but true. However, why can't the State of Texas file a slander suit on this rag for spreading the lies

Thats a rhetorical question IMO. we all know the answer. they are trying to make this country 2 sided. instead of 3 sided and having middle of the road thinkers. then when the "conservative" side is weaker they will push them into the sewers demolition man style. if you haven't seen the movie watch closely you will side with the radicals living in the sewer at least i did lol. mabey im crazy i don't know, i just see it going that way.

Did Sarah Brady write that? So many of the typical lies and misconceptions to scare people.

The NY media long ago abandoned the idea of reporting the facts and became a mouthpiece for Elitists who control NYC. You will notice that the author of this hit piece didn't even want to identify him or herself. The column was not meant to inform but to keep up the constant propaganda drumbeat against the local population so as to drown out any possibility that they might actually get accurate information from another source.
Having lived in Northern NJ personally (less than 50 miles from the center of the rotten apple), I can tell you that the perception of anything related to Texas is highly distorted by the media blitz. They cannot afford to allow the success that Texas has had in economic downturn to become known among the voting public. People might start asking questions. Far too many of the residents in the area rely solely on local news sources for the information that they come to believe. Regardless of what you might believe about it, Fox News is a thorn in the side of the Liberal establishment in NY and they need to do everything that they can to try to keep their individual causes in the public eye. I'd bet a large sum of money that one of the Bloomberg minions is behind the content of this "opinion".

Maybe what the NY Times wrote about Texas will keep more of them from moving down here. I say let them stay huddled and scared up there in their little corner of this country. We don't need them down here trying to turn our state blue.

Wish we could hand pick a few to send back.

Whoever controls the media controls the country regardless if true or not. The media always say's "the majority think this or that" even when the majority does not. Not that it should matter since we are supposed to be a Republic and not setup as a "mob rule society". They also like to throw out the term "conspiracy theory" as needed to instantly eliminate any opposition to a known atrocity committed by Politicians or the State in general. We have been conditioned well to not react to anything labeled with this term. Nobody wants to be called a tinfoil hat wearing gun toting survivalist anti-establishment nut that "hates children".
Both comments posted from this NY news article were negative toward it. This un-truth has been "floated" so they have done their job for the State. Keep the pressure going and never give up...
Happy Saturday to all you Gun Toting Freedom Fighting Texans!

That article is not in the NY Times. It is in the NY Daily News.

Not only that but it isn't reporting but an op-ed. Opinions are like, well, you know.
I wish they would start them off with "Once Upon A Time" so we'd know but its a free press
It doesn't say how Texas did this, but I imagine it is a reference to shortening the class time. In that sense, it might even be true, I guess.

"Texas eased requirements for carrying a concealed weapon, and opened the permits to more convicted criminals"
The above excerpted from the article.
I don't understand what they're talking about regarding: "and opened the permits to more convicted criminals"
Anyone have an idea as to what they're possibly referencing?

This is the lie. On the other hand, in Texas if one is convicted with Class A or Class B misdemeanor can lose his CHL for 5yrs.
So, if you have a Class C speeding ticket and you pay it, the NY author would label you as "convicted criminal" .
