“Mr. Potter from ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ wouldn’t even ban little children from wishing our veterans Merry Christmas,” Sasser said.
Hiram Sasser, director of litigation for Liberty Institute, said it was a new low “even for the Scrooges and Grinches at the VA.”

More nit-witted political correctness at work.
Political Correctness is wrongly equated with morality - make that dubious morality.
Currently, we're being ruled by the minority with their mantra of political correctness.
It's my hope that political correctness in general will ultimately be met by an astounding backlash of the majority as in now being seen by the public's response to Phil Robertson.
Merry Christmas!

I emailed the Dallas VA about this. I told them it seemed that while someone there has ability at meeting the letter of regulations, it comes across as being unnecessarily politically correct and "Grinch-like", and that its bad PR that the VA really doesn't need. I doubt they will care much what one "retiree" has to say, but still, it needed to be said.

this sort of ticks me off
I was there the week before veterans day...and some really great kids made cards thanking all of the veterans for our service
many had words like
THANK YOU
and We pray for you to be healthy
GOD BLESS AMERICA

So why do Americans put up with this any longer?

Because the majority of the people have consistently voted these numbskulls into office for the last three generations.
We get exactly the government we deserve.

This really ticked me off. Who in the H does the VA think they are to censor the mail? Ridiculous! Boo! Scrooges!
*Edited for spelling.

I have a better one than that. In 2012 my daughter spent the whole year buying My Little Ponies. Her plan was to give them to St. Jude for the kids at Christmas. She had a couple hundred in October that year. She checked with St. Jude to find out how she could get the Ponies to them for distribution. They told her they only accepted cash donations. They didn't want the brand new in the box ponies. I really don't remember who she ended up giving them to. Granted, she probably should have checked with St.Judes first but who would have ever thought they would turn down gifts for the children?

Crazy. The US Marines would have taken them for Toys For Tots.

Bless her sweet heart for being so generous!

What do we expect from the State run medical facility charged with processing Citizens no longer able to fight for them? The State views these Americans as Liabilities. Always have and always will. Totally disgusting. There's some really good people in the VA. Unfortunately it's being administered by Politicians.
The "in your face" corruption is not as blatant as the 1930's when Americans were sent to World War I on their own dime. Not to worry, you will be paid in 1945 for the sacrifice of lost wages, fallow farms and hungry families while you were away in Europe...hang in there troops, help is on the way. Thank you for your service! MacArthur and Patton will be along soon...

Yet another sign of this administration's trickle down political correctness.

Never heard of this being an issue before.
