Just introducing myself

Just another new guy looking to take in plenty of information and probably ask a few questions. I'm currently working on getting my CHL and have scheduled my class in February. My boss just got his CHL and encouraged the rest of us in the office to go ahead and get it and to carry in the office as well. Not that I think we'll need it, but better to have and not need than need and not have. You guys know the adage. Anyways, not entirely new to guns but i'm no seasoned shooter either, however I am new to CHL, so I look forward to absorbing as much as possible and train as much as possible.

First, welcome to the forum. There are variations on a saying you'll hear around here a lot that go something like this: "Carry 24/7 or guess right." I've carried daily since I got my first plastic right about this time of year in 2008. I don't carry daily because I think I'll need a gun......I carry daily because I hope I don't, and by having it with me, I no longer have to think about what might maybe happen. I carry pocket knife for much the same reason. I don't expect to need it, but it sure is handy to have one when you do need it. There's an apocryphal quote from a famous lawman of yore whose name I don't remember. He was confronted by a blue-haired busy-body at a social function about the fact that he was carrying his sidearm. She asked him, "are you expecting trouble?" "No, ma'am," he replies. "If I was expecting trouble, I'd have brought a rifle."

I think that about sums it up for most of us.
