The Bushmaster is getting a new trigger :)

Yet another stock Bushmaster (.308) part is getting replaced; I've always disliked the stock trigger - I was never quite sure when it was going to break and I didn't like pull resistance.

After watching the 30 minute Geissele YouTube video describing the various triggers, I chose the SSA-E to suit my shooting style and requirements. The High Speed National Match trigger looked fantastic but I didn't want to fool with adjustments since I'm not a competition shooter.

At this rate, I'll almost have enough parts to build another gun :thumbs2: .

I have the Geissele SD-C with the flat trigger in my AR and it is a fantastic trigger. I know you will be happy with the SSA-E. The problem is that once you have one Geissele, you want one in all your other AR platform guns.

Installed the new trigger this afternoon :thumbs2: . Before I started the swap I dry fired the stock trigger several times and that just validated my opinion about that trigger - I never knew when it was going release the hammer and the pull was never the same two times in a row.

The Geissele is simply amazing, this is my first after-market trigger and I was so impressed. I love the two stages - after a few dry fires I was completely comfortable with knowing exactly when the hammer was going to be released. It was the same break time after time. Can't wait to get it out to the range. :fire

It's a fantastic upgrade - this should have been the very first mod I did to the Bushy.

I too have the Geissele SSA-E trigger in my Colt LE6920 and for target shooting it's outstanding!

I highly doubt you'd regret it.

Beiruty,

Prepare yourself for the cost of the Geissele trigger. They're very pricey.

I paid $230.00 before tax, then saw them on sale for $50.00 off around Christmas.

However, if you desire a much better than a stock trigger, but not as good as a Geissele, get an ALG.

ALG is actually related to Geissele, as I think his wife heads up ALG triggers. They cost around $65.00 and maybe even less depending on where you buy it.

The ALG triggers are great for the money. It's basically a slicked up mil-spec trigger. Pull weight and take up is basically the same as a mil spec trigger but its much smoother. The engagement surfaces are much cleaner and the trigger is NiB coated.

Is it single or double stage? My AR10 has a two stage that's been honed to a gnat's whisker letoff on the break. I like it, but I don't know if it would be any better or not with a good single stage.

I carried an A2 for almost 8 years. I got used to the trigger. Before I bought a Ruger GP100 I guess I didn't know what a real trigger should feel like. Then I bought another GP in 357 because I shot the 327 so much better than any of my other pistols or revolvers. Now you all have me thinking about AR triggers. I just finished my first AR lower but maybe it's not finished. But if I do I will be spoiled and have to get a couple more.

For just all around use would the ALG be the way to go for them?

The ALG is a single stage.

Spend 30 minutes watching the Geissele trigger overview video, that should help you decide. I rarely spend 30 minutes watching a YouTube but this one was informative and interesting.
