School officials deeply troubled over guns appearing ON SIGNS BANNING GUNS
Administrators at a school in the South Suburbs of Chicago are up in arms over a state law (House Bill 0183) that requires schools to post small signs announcing that guns cannot be carried in schools.
The sign they're upset about is a "gunbusters" sign. They hate guns so much that a sign banning guns is unacceptable because the sign has a picture of a gun on it.
You can't make this kind of stuff up.

Perhaps they could change the picture to a bullet. How about a picture of a 30 round mag? Maybe what is really wrong is that she is a Glock fan and the picture looks too much like a hated 1911.

It must really suck to have a fear of something to the point that the SHAPE of it on a sticker causes you stress....

Was it a revolver or semi-auto silhouette? That could make a big difference in the threatening image. Long gun? May as well call in the shrinks.

If the picture of a gun bothers em so bad imagine how a real bad guy with a real gun would make them "feel".

Maybe they should put up a "No Criminal" sign.

I wonder what their history classes look like, since so much of history involves armed conflict.
D-day: "The boys club from the west pulled their boats up to the shore and they had a dance off with the German visitors."

Do action movies with antigun actors scare the living bejeebers out of them?

Don't make fun of them.
Hoplophobia is a terrible affliction that causes them to go through life terrified of what others enjoy and without all those fun trips to the range and the woods.

Now in Chicago if a kid drew a picture of a gunbuster sign in art class or whatever would they be suspended/arrested/chased with torches and pitchforks; or would they be given the keys to the ciry?

Does anyone have a version of the gunbuster sign using an EBR?

Some of the comments are pretty funny. I liked this one:
They are afraid because they believe in "Sympathetic Magic." That is the belief that things that resemble the object that they fear are the same as that object. It is a belief that is commonly found among backward primitive cultures which are riddled with superstition and ignorance.
Such as Public School staff.
And this one.....
Hard to tell what frightens a liberal more, pictures of guns or pictures of a cross.

I, too, am appalled they have to put these offensive stickers up, but for decidedly different reasons.

I'm with you. These are only required at places that are already offlimits statutorially...
