1. I'm not sure on this one - I'd contact HQ to ask them.
2. From what I've read, they make one that is SSP/Production legal. You may want to verify with them, they would know.

Nope.

Under Rule 8.2.1.4. SSP Excluded Modifications (Non-Inclusive list):
8.2.1.4.1. Externally visible modifications other than those listed in the Permitted Modifications section.

Under Rule 8.2.2.2 ESP Permitted Features and Modifications (Inclusive list)
8.2.2.2.15. Reshape trigger guard

You can do internal trigger work, but if anything is externally visible (overtravel stop, different trigger, etc.), that is not allowed in SSP.

8.2.1.3.3. Magazine releases, slide stops, safety levers, de-cocking levers, hammers, and triggers, that
are stock on one SSP legal firearm may be used on another SSP legal firearm from the same
manufacturer provided they are drop in replacements.

Parts in this list must come factory installed on standard production firearms. Special parts that are available installed only from a factory custom shop are not eligible in SSP. Effective 04/01/2014.

I thought that was always the rule. Basically anything besides sights that can change the visual look of the piece are verbotten for SSP class.

I don't know the new rules, but under the old rules a gun had to meet certain volume of sales limits to qualify for SSP. Boutique guns or custom shop guns were not SSP. Sounds like this rule is consistent with that line of reasoning.

I've looked at the wording and it says "trigger" but does not mention anything about a trigger bar, trigger spring, connector etc... In fact the manual still states that internal trigger is allowed as long is it doesn't compromise safety and cant be seen.

This is a new rule effective 04/01/2014 per the manual so about the only thing I couldn't do now is a drop in Glockworx or the Vogel because they replace the actual trigger with an aftermarket.

Lastly, how do they plan on enforcing the new rules? Taking everyone's gun apart seems unreasonable.
