I have to wear safety toe shoes at work when I go into the production area.

My normal dress socks develop a hole in the big toe after only a few times of use.

Today, I bought some Dickies Industrial Strength socks at Walmart to give them a try.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Merino wool boot socks. Costco usually has the Kirkland brand but amazon does too.

During 20 years in the USAF wearing steel toe boots for aircraft maintenance, I found Fox River brand boot sox to be excellent. A little pricey, but comfortable and they last pretty well.

I wear Dickies like the ones you bought and have good luck with them.

When it's cold I wear Wolverine brand from Academy (part wool and part poly I think). They work well too.

I wear Goldtoe socks...seem to e the only thing that lasts going back and forth from motorcycle boots, office shoes, and steel toed

They seem to have stores at every outlet mall & I think Costco carries them as well

I second the Fox River brand. As a plus, they come in sizes, so those of us with bigger feet don't have to put up with too tight socks. I get them at Cabela's, but I'm sure you can also find them in other places.

I have been using the Goldtoe, but they haven't been working.

I am using the dress socks so maybe they aren't as sturdy as some of their other products.

I will try my Dickies and get some Fox Rivers to see how they hold up.

The non metallic safety toed shoes for electrical workers are a little gentler on socks and toes yet still meet OSHA specs. You might want to look into a pair of those when it's time to replace your safety shoes. I also found back in the day when I had to have safety toes, the brand of shoe made a big difference in both comfort and sock life. If I could feel the steel or, non metallic cap when on a knee then I looked at another brand. YMMV

Actually, I think the toes are composite, rather than steel. I will try the "knee test."
Since it's the beginning of a new year I can get a new pair.
My feet are hard to fit. I usually have to try four or five different brands to find one that is comfortable.
I will go to the shoe store and try to find something better.
