Hey guys I have a question about reciprocity in Oklahoma. I have done some research and it seems to be ok to travel to Oklahoma with my Texas permit.
Just wanted to get a second opinion from you guys.
Thanks.

This was last updated about a year ago. Borrowed from AggieMM viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4738&start=90

You can also go to DPS's website and select any state from the online map for info

Yep, you are good to carry concealed with your Texas CHL.

But remember that you have to follow OK carry laws.

Unless something has recently changed, "gunbuster" signs in OK are considered formal notice. That differs quite a bit from our 30.06 notification system.

Section 1290.22.

C. A property owner, tenant, employer, place of worship or business entity may prohibit any person
from carrying a concealed or unconcealed firearm on the property. If the building or property is open to the
public, the property owner, tenant, employer, place of worship or business entity shall post signs on or about
the property stating such prohibition.

D. The carrying of a concealed or unconcealed firearm by a person who has been issued a handgun
license on property that has signs prohibiting the carrying of firearms shall not be deemed a criminal act but
may subject the person to being denied entrance onto the property or removed from the property. If the
person refuses to leave the property and a peace officer is summoned, the person may be issued a citation for
an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00).

Just got back from OK, saw very few gun-buster signs, except at Chesapeake Energy Arena. OK prohibits carry at pro sporting events and schools. gun-buster signs are not like 30.06, you can carry legally, but can be charged if you don't leave when asked.

I also did not see any OC.

One gun only (no BUGs), and no caliber larger than .45.

Thanks for the info. That's what I thought after I did some research, but I wanted to be sure of it.
Thanks

Concealed means concealed, even North of the Red River. :thumbs2:

It sounds like there were more than a few pro gun legislators in Oklahoma when they wrote their sign law.

Ok here is another question for you guys. I been reading the Oklahoma gun laws and it's not clear if you can carry a concealed handgun LOADED or not with your concealed permit.

Yes, you can carry a loaded concealed gun with your permit. Also, OK has OC.

Yes, OK has OC, but you have to have a separate permit for that. Texas CHL would not suffice.

The way I read the law, a Texas CHL give you the same permissions as a license issue by Oklahoma. Their licenses donnot denote either unconcealed or concealed...it is your choice how you carry, you just have to have a carry license.
Oklahoma ยง21-1290.26. reads "The State of Oklahoma hereby recognizes any valid concealed or unconcealed carry weapons permit or license issued by another state. Any person entering this state in possession of a firearm authorized for concealed or unconcealed carry upon the authority and license of another state is authorized to continue to carry a concealed or unconcealed firearm and license in this state; provided the license from the other state remains valid. The firearm must either be carried unconcealed and in plain view or fully concealed from detection and view, and upon coming in contact with any peace officer of this state, the person must disclose the fact that he or she is in possession of a concealed or unconcealed firearm pursuant to a valid concealed or unconcealed carry weapons permit or license issued in another state."

Where do you see that in the Okie law?
